ha long bay

Wow. What a trip!

I’m starting to think that I’ve spent a majority of my time in Vietnam not sober.

Ha Long Bay was incredible. I did a two day party cruise around the bay where we did all sorts of whacky activities whilst consuming a lot of alcohol..

Activities included

  • Kayaking around the Bay and through some awesome caves
  • Water trampolines and jumping off of the boat
  • Beer Yoga
  • Partying
  • Learning to cook traditional Vietnamese food

It was mega.

It took 4 hours to get to Ha Long Bay from central Hanoi which seemed forever but after spending a record 10 hours on a plane, seemed doable.

I met some more amazing people and had the best time.

We went Kayaking and this was great, the water was warm and we took a 30 minute(ish) route around the bay through some awesome caves (which I was concerned about my height for some!) and ended up in a secluded little area where even if you spoke quietly, there was and echo.

We took beers with us (obviously) and learnt how to do cheers in Vietnamese.

Một, hai, ba, chúc mừng

Hai, ba, chúc mừng

Hai, ba, uống

The echo when we did this was amazing!!

Learning to make Vietnamese food was also cool, we started by learning how to make spring rolls (which tasted AMAZING!)

And the jumping off the boat in to the bay was so scary but fun. It was quite high up, and when I got to the top of the ladder I was seriously like what the hell am I doing?? Am I going to make it back to the UK in one piece?? Alive?? It was good fun though. So worth it.

Honestly it was just one of the best experiences ever and so worth the trip. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Vietnam to visit here!!
