sydney

I hadn’t made any plans today so decided to have a wander in to the city and just enjoy the views and what was going on around me.

I got the train in as it’s not far, only about half hour from where I’m staying at my family’s. What’s crazy is that it would be like the equivalent of travelling from Kent to London… so imagine the price back home with it being about £20 to get to London. Over here, it costs about $3.50 to get in to Sydney. How mad??!

It’s super simple to work the transport to get in to the city and you use the same card for trains, buses, ferries and whatever other transport you could encounter. Just tap on, tap off.

I had a wander, did a bit of shopping (am good at that no matter what country I’m in) and then found myself at the Opera Bar. This was amazing.

I got a few cocktails (mind you, $20+ each!!) but sooo worth it. Even just for the view whilst I sat drinking them. Sydney Harbour Bridge one side and Sydney Opera House the other. Honestly did not want it to end.

It’s nice just people watching in these places and seeing what’s going on around you. I’ve also really learnt to like being in my own company, I’ve learnt to ditch my phone a lot more because of a lack of WiFi and super expensive roaming charges, and just sit and read a book or listen to music whilst taking in the surroundings which are around me. How bliss??!
