So today I went to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and did an Xtreme ‘no cage’ Shark Dive.
I clearly look ready to take it on don’t I…

This was a proper wicked experience. Something that I will 100% remember for a long time.
After getting kitted up we spent about 15 minutes in the training pool just learning some ideal signals as you obviously can’t speak underwater, learning breathing techniques to make sure you stayed safe. Also just some general ‘safety measures’ whilst being surrounded by 9 sharks all bigger than me, plus sting rays, manta rays, turtles & 100’s of fish… what could go wrong?
Then came the main oceanarium… you jump through a window from the training pool in to the main oceanarium area and you’re greeted straight away with one of these massssive animals!
I think you can really see in my eyes that I’m actually terrified about one of these giants being right behind me.

In total we got about 45 minutes in the oceanarium and each minute was so incredible and different.
The sharks would swim right up next to you and above you and below you and brush along your body.
You can see below that I’m trying to point to the dive instructor like ‘omg look how big it is’.
They were incredibly gentle creatures though, they just wanted to swim around and have their space and time to be themselves.
Another thing ticked off of my bucket list, definitely something to remember too.
