and breathe.. well, kind of

And breathe…

(Oh, and when it finally rains, it POURS!)

I took the opportunity to just chill out today. Went for a stroll along the beach and had a few beers. Eventually headed back to the rooftop bar at the hostel to FaceTime friends and family where they were only just starting their days in the UK.

It was my final day in Bali! I couldn’t believe how quickly the week had gone. Before I knew it I would be packing up and jetting off to destination number two.

I really enjoyed Bali, completely underestimated how big it actually was and how much I needed to cram in to such a short period of time to make sure that I saw and got involved in everything I wanted to. I had fun though and that was the main thing.

Pictured: the best Chicken & Cashew Thai I have ever had. This was probably one of my favourite meals out here and I enjoyed it soooo much.

And then off to the airport!

The airport was a little bit (a lot) stressful for me. I was anxious anyway as they advise you to get to the airport 3 hours before check-in, but do not open check in until 1.5 hours before flight departure… odd. When I then finally managed to check-in (with limited time) they said that there was an issue with my visa… that I knew nothing about.

As far as I was aware my visa was successful for Australia, I had all the confirmations back and it was all good. I showed this to them and they said that the date of births didn’t match up. How can that happen??! So… on my confirmations my date of birth is correct at 1997 but on all of the systems at the airport, my date of birth on my visa is down as 1987. So it wasn’t the same person. And now with only an hour until my flight was due to depart I am completely stressing out. The system would not let me check-in without a valid visa and there wasn’t much time to sort this out now. So what do I do? Call home and panic.

Luckily, after speaking to the right people and getting the right information, I managed to get myself a very speedy visa and myself on the flight to Sydney, but what a day… it would only happen to me haha.

Anyway, Bali you’ve been amazing but Sydney I am coming…
